The Gallery
The Gallery is a whole-home renovation in St. Petersburg conceived around a singular premise: that a private residence can function as a living collection. The entry sequence sets the tone — a steel-framed courtyard with a climbing trellis gives way to floor-to-ceiling glazing that reveals the interior as a curated world unto itself. Raw concrete block, left exposed throughout, anchors the composition in texture and weight.
At the heart of the home, a sculptural spiral staircase rises through a double-height volume, its plastered soffit and glass balustrade acting as the architectural counterpoint to the collection it displays. Warm teak ceiling panels flow continuously from the kitchen through the living areas, softening the industrial character of the concrete and polished floors below. Every room transitions between the raw and the refined — exposed structure beside custom millwork, rough block beside book-matched marble.
The kitchen is finished to gallery-level precision: floor-to-ceiling teak cabinetry with flush black hardware frames a dramatic veined marble backsplash, while a marble waterfall island anchors the space. In the primary suite, a freestanding soaking tub floats before a full-height picture window, framing a private garden as though it were a painting. Throughout, the architecture steps back just enough to let the art, and the life lived among it, take center stage.
