Wilson Apartments
Wilson Apartments is a ten-story multifamily residential building at 2201 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia. The building's classical urban exterior — warm brick facade, expressed cornices, ornamental detailing, and private balconies at every floor — anchors the corner of one of Arlington's most active corridors, with ground-level retail animating the streetscape below. A curved curtain wall of floor-to-ceiling glass rises the full height of the corner tower element, giving the building a distinctive civic presence within the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor.
Inside, the design shifts to a contemporary material language that complements the building's traditional shell. The lobby is defined by a herringbone hardwood floor, dark slate tile columns, and a sculptural black-and-gold chandelier anchoring the space above a marble-faced reception desk. A lounge off the lobby creates an intimate counterpoint — a steel-framed glass partition, linear gas fireplace with a geometric dark tile surround, and layered seating that reads as a private living room within a public setting.
Amenity spaces balance function with personality: the game room features a bold checkerboard tile floor, white subway tile walls with dark accent banding, and folding glass walls that open directly to an outdoor courtyard. Residential units offer light-filled interiors with wide-plank hardwood floors and an open living and dining layout connected to a kitchen with a breakfast bar — accommodating the rhythms of urban apartment living with understated efficiency.
