Edge Hotel
Edge Hotel is a ten-story, 173-key boutique Gulf-front hotel at 505 South Gulfview Boulevard on Clearwater Beach, completed in 2018 at a construction cost of $27.8 million. At 192,675 square feet and formerly known as Pier House, the project includes 357 structured parking spaces and stands as a landmark anchor along Clearwater Beach's primary visual corridor.
Behar Peteranecz Architecture approached the project with a focus on geometric clarity, fluid indoor-outdoor programming, and maximizing continuous views of the Gulf of Mexico. The result is the only hotel on Clearwater Beach with a glass-wall pool and the largest rooftop bar on the beach — distinctions that reflect a design strategy centered on activating every level of the building toward the water. The hotel was nominated for best boutique hotel in the Tampa Bay area.
The program includes three on-site restaurants, two bars, and two pools across ten floors. The structure is engineered for its coastal exposure: a flood-proof reinforced concrete system with 16-inch floor slabs, 10-inch ceiling slabs, post-tension concrete ranging from 8 to 16 inches in thickness, and drilled-shaft caissons. MEP and structural engineering were provided by GEG Engineering.
